* MLB closer Trevor Hoffman has officially decided to hang up his cleats and retire, boy will he missed!

* The commissioner of the MLB, Bud Selig, has confirmed that there won’t be an expanded playoff system in 2011.

* Despite being not allowed at the BCS National Championship, Cecil Newton was in attendance for the game Monday to watch Cam Newton lead the Auburn Tigers to victory.

* LeBron James decided that it was necessary to use Twitter to tweet something awful about his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday when they were losing badly to the L.A. Lakers.

Welcome to yet another Monday in the year 2011, isn’t it just so amazing? This will be another awesome day, so without further ado, lets check out our headlines, games to watch and video of the day, shall we?


* The Philadelphia Eagles were unable to convert their final drive into points, as they watched their quarterback Michael Vick tossed an interception, which secured a win for the Packers.

* Following an impressive win against the Eagles, it seems likely that the Packers could be setting themselves up for a fantastic playoff/championship journey.

* The Kansas City Chiefs had no right to be in the playoffs, especially after the way they played against their opponent, the Baltimore Ravens and even quarterback Matt Cassel struggled.

* Could the New Jersey Nets be really close to signing the Denver Nuggets three time NBA All-Star, Carmelo Anthony?

* The Miami Heat are certainly flexing their muscles, as they steamrolled past the Portland Trailblazers and received some help from LeBron James who finished the evening with 44-points.

* The University of Nevada can state their case for being a dominant squad, as they earned their 13th victory on Sunday by defeating the Boston College Eagles, 20-13.

* The day has come for the BCS National Championship, yet who wins? Auburn or Oregon?
