Yes, high school football is being played in various parts of the country, despite the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. And so far, it seems like things have gone smoothly.

(Knock on wood!)

Last week, the nation had a chance to witness the best team in the country – that would be IMG Academy – as they cruised to a season-opening win over Venice, thanks to an impressive showing by quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who is committed to playing football next fall at the University of Michigan.

Yet, prior to last week’s win, IMG Academy was picked the top team in the country by USA Today, which also put them back in that same position earlier today.

Duncanville (Texas), which has yet to play a game, secured the second spot while St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, secured the third position.

North Shore in Houston, Texas checked-in fourth for the second-straight week while Grayson in Loganville, Georgia rounded out the top five with an opening day victory against Jones County. Grayson was previously ranked sixth overall.

This week’s biggest mover was Corner Canyon in Draper, Utah, which inched closer to the top ten with their fourth victory of the 2020 season. The Chargers topped Jordan last week by a score of 51-14, thanks to senior quarterback Jaxson Dart, who concluded the contest 16 of 23 for 421 yards and six touchdowns.

Thompson of Alabaster, Alabama, also moved-up – the Warriors checked-in 12th overall after securing the 16 position one week ago – while Center Grove in Greenwood, Indiana moved up four spots to the 13th position.

Here are this week’s USA Today High School Super 25 rankings
